us directly. Clients are often surprised to
learn the full breadth of information available through Edudata.
Step 2: Enter into a research
agreement.
All researchers wishing to access education data must sign
a research agreement with Edudata Canada , detailing the nature
of your research project, the specifics of the data to be
made available, and the conditions of access to them. View
a sample research agreement at left. Please contact
us for more information, and/ or to draft an
agreement.
Step 3: Apply for permission
to access the data.
Most data are subject to privacy laws. Because of this, qualified
researchers must apply to the data owner, usually the BC Ministry
of Education, for permission to access them. Edudata will
help researchers to fill out the application form and submit
it to the appropriate parties. View a sample Ministry application
form at left.
Step 4: Receive your data
Once you have been granted permission to access the data
in question, Edudata will create a customized dataset, built
to the specifications you provide . This means that researchers
will not have to become familiar with the details of the original
data's structure, which might be highly complex. The datasets
provided by Edudata will be ready for analysis.
Step 5: Get
help with data analysis
Should you choose to, Edudata will help you with the complex
task of data analysis. While this step is optional, many researchers
choose to take advantage of this service. Our qualified data
