of the initial tasks undertaken by the District and Edudata
was to construct a map of all data available in the data
warehouse. The aim of the map was to inform teachers and
administrators about available information at the student
level.
A second step was to convert the information in the
map into a searchable catalogue form. The catalogue
stores information in a logical and coherent manner
and enables users to organize that information in multiple
ways (FSA, Report Card, Provincial Exams, etc). It is
possible to sort, search, arrange and rearrange information
in the Catalogue using concepts and structures that
make the most sense to the users.
The Map and Catalogue serve the purpose of making vast
amounts of often complex information accessible to a
wide audience.
